Everything changed when I was called a “bad egg” for standing up for what’s right
Hey, I’m Steve, founder of Bad Egg Digital.
I’m originally from Newfoundland in Canada, and now based in Ayr. I’m one of the rare people who enjoys Scottish weather – mostly because it’s not Newfoundland-level snow.
After more than a decade working in agencies, in-house teams, and freelance roles, I saw the same crappy patterns pop up time and time again – unclear expectations, confusing tools, and websites that became hard to manage over time.
Good people were left feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or misled – often after investing thousands in something that needs fixing a few months later…
Eventually, I started calling these issues out. That’s when I was labelled a “bad egg”. So instead of resisting it, I leaned into it and set up Bad Egg Digital alongside my partner Elizabeth, who shares my rebel tendencies.
We’re purposely approaching things differently. We’re not doing things the ‘usual’ way just because that’s what people do. Instead, we approach every project with integrity, genuine helpfulness, and transparency.
Because while we’re website specialists, it’s never just a website. It’s trust, empowerment, and allowing you to make a real impact.

Steve’s worked within agencies and in-house teams, and as a freelancer in advanced UX and front-end development. He’s seen it all… the good, the bad, and the outright ugly.
Most of Steve’s technical experience has been rescuing terrible websites and transforming them so they actually work.
He’s even created a special phrase for it: “Unfucking websites.”
Elizabeth Ross

Elizabeth is a lifelong learner, avid researcher, and all-around creative soul. As a neurodivergent entrepreneur and experienced educator, her ‘thing’ is creating systems where different minds can thrive.
After years of denying it, Elizabeth has finally realised she is, in fact, an artist. Just not in the traditional drawing or painting sense.
She also says fuck. A lot.
